Select the 'Expansions' tab on the left side of the BROWSER screen – you’ll see the ‘factory’ expansions appear first, but continue scrolling until you see your newly added expansions.
Once you've transferred your expansions to your MPC/Force, you'll be able to access them via ‘ MENU > BROWSER’:
You can now ‘eject’ the disk from your computer and return your MPC/Force to ‘Standalone’ mode. In the above example you can see that there are already a number of expansions already stored inside the Expansions folder. If the ‘Expansions’ folder already exists, simply add your new expansion inside it. To ensure that the kit is treated as a proper Expansion in your MPC/Force, make sure you first create a folder called ‘ Expansions’ in the root location of your MPC/Force disk and copy the kit folder inside this ‘ Expansions’ folder: Inside you'll find a folder named after the product itself – for example, if you purchased MPC Analog, you’ll see a folder called ‘ MPC Analog’ this is the standalone expansion folder that we're going to copy to our disk: Locate your downloaded and extracted expansion and enter the folder 'Standalone MPC-Akai Force Edition'. With your disk now available as a removable drive on your computer, the next step is to copy the standalone expansion to it. Click on the drive to open its file system: Whichever connection method you use, your MPC/Force disk will now appear as a ‘removable’ drive in your computer’s file manager (e.g. Click on the CONTROLLER MODE button at the bottom of the page.Īkai Force users should go to the MENU screen and tap on the 'Laptop' icon in the top right of the screen (this time select ' COMPUTER MODE').

It’s not currently possible to install third party expansions to the built-in 16GB internal drive, so instead we have to install expansions to an 'attached' disk. Most of our expansions are ‘multi-format’ and contain versions for different MPC models – in this tutorial we’ll be using the files inside the folder 'Standalone MPC-Akai Force Edition' – this contains the ‘standalone’ expansion installer.
